Fictional Narratives
My work is based on observation, using still life set-ups from which to edit and abstract. My paintings, though a record of my own inquiries, memories and curiosities, are both temporal and a-temporal; capturing a moment in time, and simultaneously collapsing time, elucidating fictional moments or expanses of time within one image.

These paintings are “fictional narratives” created by the juxtaposition of Matchbox cars and like-colored objects in my studio. I then construct a narrative based on the interaction of these objects, akin to the fantastical narratives I created as a child playing with cars like these.
